The Hong Kong Securities and Futures Commission (SFC) detected and blocked six suspicious websites posing as licensed platforms for trading virtual assets. Three of the sites posed as Hash Blockchain, and another three disguised themselves as cryptocurrency service OSL Digital Securities.
Investors complained of high fees when withdrawing digital assets from these sites. The SFC has approached law enforcement agencies to block the sites and investigate.
The regulator recommends investors to check licenses and registrations on official SFC resources to avoid financial risks.
